Carrie Powell, LAT, ATC, EMT-P

Carrie Powell, LAT, ATC, EMT-P, is a licensed and certified athletic trainer. Carrie earned her B.S. from Lenoir-Rhyne College, and her second B.S. in Emergency Medicine from Western Carolina. Carrie is currently the Athletic Trainer at Swain County High School.

 

 

Anne Smallwood, MS, LAT, ATC  

Anne Smallwood, MS, LAT, ATC is a licensed and certified athletic trainer. Anne earned her Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training, with a concentration in Health Promotion from Appalachian State University and her Masters Degree in Sports Administration from the University of New Mexico. Anne has worked at the collegiate level for the past eight years, and is currently the Athletic Trainer at Robbinsville High School.Anne Smallwood, MS, LAT, ATC is a licensed and certified athletic trainer. Anne earned her Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training, with a concentration in Health Promotion from Appalachian State University and her Masters Degree in Sports Administration from the University of New Mexico. Jerry Sullivan, LAT, ATC

Jerry Sullivan, LAT, ATC is a licensed and certified athletic trainer. Jerry earned his Bachelor's of Science in Health Science/Athletic Training from Western Illinois University. He has spent the last 13 years as the head athletic trainer for Lincolnland Community College in Springfield, Illinois, and prior to that was the head athletic trainer for Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri. In 1995, Jerry was selected by the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games to work as an athletic trainer for the track and field venue for the 100th Olympic Games held in Atlanta, Ga. During this time, he was selected to work the 1995 US Rowing National Championships,1996 Atlanta Grand Prix Invitational Track Event and the 1996 US Track & Field Trials. Jerry was also the medical liaison for DeKalb Medical Center for the 1994 and 1995 Peach Bowl. Jerry is currently the head athletic trainer for both Highlands School and Blue Ridge School.

 

Tom Tisdale, MS, LAT, ATC  

Tom Tisdale, MS, LAT, ATC is a licensed and certified athletic trainer. Tom received his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training from California Lutheran University. He completed his Master's Degree in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania. He spent 19 years working in professional baseball with the Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Rays and Pittsburgh Pirates. During the baseball off seasons he has worked with Salisbury University in Maryland as well as Western Carolina University. From 2006 through 2010 he served as the Men's Basketball athletic trainer at WCU. Currently, Tom serves as the athletic trainer at Rabun County High School and is an approved clinical instructor for the Western Carolina University Athletic Training Education Program.

 

Angie Arndt MSEd, LAT, ATC 

Angie Arndt MSEd, LAT, ATC is a licensed and certified athletic trainer. Angie earned a B.S. in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University and a Master's of Science in Health Education and Health Promotion with a concentration in Sports Medicine from Virginia Tech. She has covered a variety of collegiate sports, including softball and track and field, and most recently worked for two years as the athletic trainer for Virginia Tech's women's lacrosse team. Angie is a Clinical Instructor for WCU's Athletic Training Education Program. She is also an adjunct faculty member in the Health Sciences Department at WCU. She is currently covering Smoky Mountain High School. 

 


Daniel Carr

Daniel graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University.  After completing his degree at Western Carolina, Daniel worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Pfeiffer University. While at Pfeiffer he primarily worked with the men’s and women’s volleyball teams. Daniel is pursuing his Masters Degree in Health Administration from Pfeiffer University with the anticipated graduation date of August 2017. He is currently the Athletic Trainer at Murphy High School. Go Dogs!

 

Jay Reno, LAT, ATC

Jay Reno, LAT, ATC is a licensed and certified athletic trainer. He is a graduate of Western Carolina University where he majored athletic training. He is providing outreach to Andrews High School.

 

  

 

Britton Harper, LAT, ATC   

Britton Harper, LAT, ATC is a licensed and certified athletic trainer. He graduated from Western Carolina University, majoring in athletic training. He received his master's degree from University of South Carolina. He recently joined CWSM and is providing outreach at Hayesville High School.
