Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center and Harris Pain Center relocate to newly refurbished spaces to accommodate easier patient access
February 16, 2024
Harris Regional Hospital recently announced the relocation of two of its specialty clinics to newly refurbished spaces.
The updates, which were completed in late January, will enable both clinics to expand treatment space, thereby enhancing patient care with additional space for advanced modalities and improved accessibility.
Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center:
Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center is now located at 70 Westcare Drive, Suite 404, having previously been located behind the hospital. The clinic, situated just off Asheville Highway and adjacent to the Eastgate buildings, boasts a flat walkway with ample parking directly in front of the building. The new location was selected primarily to promote ease of access for patients and families, while also adding four new spacious patient exam rooms, a double check-in window, an expanded work area for medical assistants, and a modern design concept to meet the evolving needs of patients and provide a comfortable environment for treatments. While the clinic will now reside in the new space, the Harris Sleep Center, where sleep studies are performed, will remain in the clinic’s legacy space at 186 Medical Park Loop, allowing for additional room and accommodations for patients undergoing studies. Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center provides a wide range of diagnostic evaluations, including pulmonary function testing, sleep studies, and comprehensive evaluations for conditions such as asthma, COPD, sleep apnea, and interstitial lung diseases. Provider team Gregory Brown, MD, Angela Connaughton, MD, Christine Kryger, NP, Leah Seiger, FNP, and Jodie Wade, FNP provide consultations, disease management, and therapeutic interventions aimed at improving respiratory function, enhancing sleep quality, and promoting overall well-being. Additionally, the clinic emphasizes patient education and ongoing support to empower individuals in managing their conditions effectively and achieving optimal health outcomes.
Harris Pain Center:
Harris Pain Center is now located at 81 Medical Park Loop, Suite 201, which was the clinic’s original location prior to a temporary relocation to allow for remodeling. The newly remodeled space now boasts new flooring, refurbished exam rooms and waiting area, and two procedure rooms, one of which houses a state-of-the-art C-arm (which provides fluoroscopic X-ray images in real-time), allowing many procedures to be done in-house.
Harris Pain Center offers a range of services aimed at alleviating discomfort and improving quality of life for patients suffering from various types of chronic pain. Austin Albright, MD and Joseph Richichi, PA-C make up the provider team for the clinic, performing consults at the new Sylva location as well as satellite clinics in Bryson City and Franklin. The clinic provides personalized treatment plans tailored to individual needs and strives to address the underlying causes of pain while promoting functional restoration and long-term relief.
"I'm thrilled that we can offer our services to patients in a newly refurbished space, one that is easily accessible and allows for ease of movement, new modalities, and the ability to perform procedures quickly and efficiently,” said Austin Albright, MD, lead physician at Harris Pain Center.
Harris Regional Hospital, with a mission of making communities healthier, is committed to delivering care tailored to the diverse healthcare needs of western North Carolina.
“We are pleased to have been able to complete these refurbishments in order to better accommodate our patients and their needs,” said Ashley Hindman, CEO of Harris Regional Hospital. “We are grateful that the outstanding care being provided by our staff and providers at both clinics will be both reflected and enhanced through this effort.”
